Veneers

Your smile is one of the biggest pieces contributing to your first impression. Being confident and happy with your teeth is a priority that Cresaptown Dental takes seriously. If you have had a broken tooth, uneven edges, or large gaps, you may be a great candidate for veneers!

What Are Veneers?

Veneers—often made of porcelain—are thin pieces that are placed on your teeth to give a natural, restored look to your teeth. They are used best in situations where only minor adjustments are needed aesthetically, such as size, color, or tooth shape. The veneers give an extra level of protection and strength to teeth with weak enamel, and provide a better-looking smile that can be treated like your own teeth. There are a variety of options for a customized veneer to be made for your teeth.

The Veneer Process

To apply veneers, a small amount (less than a millimeter) of tooth must be removed. Since veneers are used to replace tooth enamel and strengthen teeth, they need to blend in well with the existing teeth. To adhere the veneers to each tooth, there is a light-sensitive resin applied between the tooth and the porcelain. It is then hardened with a specific curing light. Here are some things that could make you a great candidate for veneers:

  • Stained teeth
  • Fractured teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Poor tooth shape
